Yurts – get back to nature

A circular domed structure of heavy canvass on a lattice framework, these Yurtnomadic type dwellings offer something just that little bit different or something for those wishing to take a greener, more sustainable holiday. We have four yurts sited on raised wooden platforms set in the tranquil old orchard towards the rear of the farmhouse. They are all locally made, using sustainable materials.

A log burning stove gives you heating and cooking options whilst the generous interior gives adventurous families plenty of room in which to enjoy a camping holiday with a difference.

Try ‘lamping’ – Lazy Camping

Our yurts, Poppy, Cowslip, Foxglove and Bluebell, named after wildflowers that can be found growing around the farm are fully equipped with all the essentials you will need for your stay. The log burning stove to keep you cosy, a gas camp stove with grill, camp kitchen stocked with crockery, cutlery and utensils for cooking, a dining table and chairs and comfortable beds. Our yurts have no electrical supply to them and are lit by solar, wind up lanterns and candles. We also offer an ice pack exchange for keeping your food items fresh in the cool box provided.

Outside, each yurt has use of its own picnic table, BBQ and fire pit for safe campfires. A basket of logs is included in the yurt stay and additional logs and charcoal are available to purchase from the farm should you require them. Here at the farm we produce our own Rare Breed sausage and bacon Yurt interiorand this can also be purchased from the farm along with fresh free range eggs. However, should you be feeling really lazy, breakfasts can be booked to be taken in the farmhouse at a reasonable additional cost by prior arrangement.

Toilets, basins, electric showers and pot washing facilities are free to use and are sited approximately twenty five metres from the yurts themselves. The walkway to these facilities is well lit during the evening.

So……..all you need to bring is yourself, suitable footwear, warm clothing, maybe a torch and a sense of adventure. Sit back and relax, all the hard work is done for you, bring the family and enjoy your time on the farm.
