How to find us

A living classroom - for the young and not so young

Enjoy a leisurely introduction to rare and traditional farm breeds that are seldom seen today. We keep cattle, sheep, pigs, goats and poultry. You can see young animals suckling and even being born before your eyes.

You won't see "do not touch" signs anywhere. Farmcraft is very much a "hands on" experience. (We demonstrate the importance of hygiene and washing your hands before eating.)

Education is an important part of our role

Local schools can be heavily involved, with education packs available in line with the national curriculum. We are happy to work with schools and teachers to design visits to meet the specific needs of various student groups. Contact us on 01335 300059 or email to discuss your needs.

A hands on experienceThere is so much to see and experience. Not only will you and your group be able to study history and importance of the farm animals we keep, but Farmcraft is an ideal place to explore all the associated environmental subjects from wildlife to geology.

There's plenty of picnic space, with tables in the meadow around the pond, as well as indoor space if the weather turns bad.

So young or old you will find the Farmcraft Rare Breed Centre well worth a visit
